About

Hi. My name is Jay Gheen. And this is my blog.

My Purpose

My purpose of this blog is to share my thoughts, what I’m learning as I grow into the conformity of Christ.  All is welcome to read and take part and hopefully you can benefit from my articles and information I need to share with you.

I have learned that reading a book is good, but one learns even more by writing a book. Although articles (blogs) are not books it is still writing. And this encourages me to  write and to learn.

My main purpose in life is the be conformed to the image of Christ (sanctification) and giving Him all the glory. If you really ponder of the attributes of God. It truly is amazing. Its been said that everything man has ever known of God can be put into a book. But the “knowing ability” of God is infinite. God will never be understood exhaustedly. Eternal life is knowing God (John 17:3), a God you will never fully understand. God is the unknown God (Acts 17:23), the incomprehensible God,  the indescribable God, the inconceivable God, unimaginable but at the same time a God you can intimately know. Truly remarkable!

My Life History

I was born and raised in a country side of Pennsylvania. Growing up in my child hood was no different from any other in the local area. I was playing sports making sure that my books never got in the way of my education. Life seemed slow and peaceful during my life in the sticks of Pennsylvania.

After a year or two upon graduation I decided to join the Navy. I felt like I wasn’t going anywhere and at the time I wouldn’t mind an adventure. I spent 3 years in the military during that time I deployed on the John F. Kennedy CV 67 (now decommissioned in 07) while attached to a fighter jet squadron. I think the biggest thing I learned while in the military was how to live in close quarters in uncomfortable situations. It also seems that experiencing  other countries became a stepping stone for the possibility of residing in foreign land (outside the U.S.A) among my future. Indeed looking back on it all, it was an adventure.
